This strategy aims to maximize ITER’s contribution to the technological development of the island through the transfer of knowledge and the generation of synergies with local companies. Within the framework of this collaboration, ITER’s Engineering Director, Jesús Rodríguez Álamo, met with EAVE’s CEO, Luis Linares Soto, and its manager in the Canary Islands and co-founder Josué García Díaz. During the meeting, the WALL-AI system developed by EAVE was presented and installed as a test in one of the houses of the LivingLab Casas Bioclimaticas ITER. In these houses the 3Kw inverter developed by the electronics department of ITER is used,…

The educational program “Aires de Tenerife, a local and global reality” will visit the 31 municipalities of the island of Tenerife by the hand of ITER´s environmental area thanks to the Innova Tenerife program 2016-2021, coordinated by the Area Tenerife 2030: innovation, education, culture and sports of the Cabildo Insular of Tenerife. The purpose of this educational project, which will take place during 2017-2018, is to contribute to a greater awareness of citizenship on the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere, the air quality and global climate change. This program counts with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education…
“Canary Islands: A Volcanic Window in the Atlantic” is an educational program of the Volcanologic Instituto of the Canarias (Involcan) which is planning to visit the 88 municipalities of Canary Islands along this year 2017. This program, which counts with ITER´s collaboration, develops thanks to the co-financing of the Tenerife Innova 2016 – 2021 program , coordinated by the Area Tenerife 2030: innovation, education, culture and sports of the Cabildo Insular of Tenerife, and the General Directorate of security and emergency of the Government of the Canary Islands. Financing from Innova Tenerife program 2016-2021 is materialized through the project “Strengthening…
These new projects will not only open new research lines for ITER, but also continue with existing lines as the design and development of solar aircrafts or the volcanic activity monitoring systems. ITER will lead four new projects within the frame of the program Collaboration – Challenge of the R&D National Plan 2013-2016 of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through FEDER funds. The HELIODRON project, where the AEROSERTEC company and the Technological Centre of Components (CTC) participate as partners, has as main objective the design and manufacturing of a low cost manufacturing and operation non- polluting solar aircraft to obtain…
Students of the Engineering Master of the University of La Laguna visited ITER’s facilities on 22nd April as part of their training activities. This visit is of great interest for the students since ITER hosts, among other infrastructure, the Development and Innovation Excellence Centre (CEDeI), which provides excellent internship possibilities for these students. The tour was guided by the Director of ITER’s Technology Area, Jesús Rodríguez Alamo, and the technician Jonatan Felipe, who showed some of the most important facilities of the institute and explained the different activities that are carried out in them. Among ITER’s facilities, students could visit…
