ITER and Net-Zero Sea Alliance collaborate to decarbonize the maritime port sector

The relationship with this entity is key both for sharing common objectives and for the geographical proximity of ITER to the port of Granadilla.

ITER is committed to promoting the decarbonization of the maritime port sector by strengthening its relationship with the Net-Zero Sea Alliance. This has been made clear during a visit today (Tuesday) framed in the agenda of activities and workshops on financing programs, organized by the Net Zero Sea Alliance and the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to the ITER facilities. The visit started at the ITER visitor’s center where they were received by the Councilor for Innovation, Research and Development of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Juan José Martínez; and the CEO of ITER, Begoña Ortiz. Later, they visited the LivingLab Viviendas Bioclimaticas ITER and finished their visit in the D-alix where they visited the Teide HPC supercomputer and the ITER generation control center.

The objective of this visit was to show ITER’s facilities and services that could be of interest for the entities participating in the Alliance, and to strengthen the relationship and the execution of common projects such as the ENEPORTS project in which ITER participates together with the port entity and some other members of the Alliance.
