MUNICIPAL MODERNIZATION

The Cabildo Insular de Tenerife (Tenerife Island Council), through the Municipal Modernization and Technical Assistance Unit (UMAM), has signed several agreements with ITER in order to achieve greater efficiency in the use of public resources allocated to articulate municipal modernization and technical assistance.

From 2006 to 2014, ITER collaborated with the Cabildo de Tenerife’s Continuous Modernization Plan (PMC) in actions for the modernization of the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

From 2014 onwards, the Agreement was renewed for the updating of the town councils’ web portals, and new municipalities joined the project. In 2016, an addendum to the Agreement was signed with the aim of expanding municipal coverage and improving the scope of the project.

The actions that are being developed include:

  • Suply of services for municipal portals and web pages, including design, development, and maintenance.
  • Advisory services and support in the implementation of different technological solutions for internal municipal management made available to the town councils by other public administrations.
  • Hosting, assistance, and maintenance of the collaborative environment used by the UMAM of the Cabildo in its daily management.
  • Establishment of a Municipal User Support Center for incident resolution.
