LAVE Mobile Energy Efficiency Laboratory

The Energy Efficiency Field R&D&I Laboratory for Tenerife is a mobile equipment created within the framework of the MACLAB-PV project “Improvement of R&D&I capacities and infrastructures in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector in the Canary Islands and Senegal”, co-financed by the INTERREG MAC 2014-2020 Program. This new mobile equipment complements the Living Lab CB ITER, a fixed energy efficiency laboratory where the solutions implemented in the 24 accommodation units that make it up can be evaluated and tested. With it, ITER’s field of action in energy efficiency is considerably extended, being able to determine solutions for specific buildings adapted to their typology, use and location.

This laboratory can be used among other services for:

  • Assessment of energy efficiency in buildings. Energy rehabilitation of spaces in use.
  • Monitoring of walls and the building’s thermal envelope through hygrometric sensors.
  • Architecture and urban planning projects whose design follows the principles of sustainability, seeking to reduce the environmental impact of the construction sector and the energy consumption of buildings.
