ITER joins the celebration of the Canary Islands Science and Innovation Weeks 2023

The institute will participate, with the projects MACLAB-PV and GENERA, in this scientific-technological dissemination event to bring research closer to students of secondary school, high school and vocational training.

The Institute of Technology and Renewable Energy (ITER), an entity under the Cabildo of Tenerife, participates once again in the Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands, which celebrate their nineteenth edition from 13 to 22 November with the main objective of bringing scientific and technological advances to the Canary Islands citizenship.

The MACLAB-PV and GENERA projects will be the main thread of the activities organized by ITER in this edition of the Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands.

Within the framework of the MACLAB-PV project, co-financed by the INTERREG MAC 2014-2020 Program, guided tours will be carried out at the ITER facilities. An informative tour, in which attendees will have the opportunity to enter the fascinating world of renewable energies, learning about the technologies associated with sustainable energy generation and the environmental and economic benefits associated with its implementation. In addition, they will be able to learn about the R+D+i activity carried out at the institute and, in particular, the activity developed in the MACLAB-PV project.

In parallel, the GENERA project, co-financed by the LIFE Program, presents the activity “GENERA TRANSITION – towards a more sustainable future” focused on the keys to energy transition in the Canary Islands. This activity aims to empower new generations in the energy transition, providing them with tools to make informed decisions and lead a more sustainable future.

Both activities will have two sessions scheduled for Tuesday, November 14 and Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and Friday, November 17 and Monday, November 20, 2023, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., respectively.

The Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands are promoted by the Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (Aciisi).
