ITER contributes to boosting the digital transformation of volunteering in Tenerife

The Instituto Tecnológico de Energías Renovables (ITER) participates in the Tenerife Solidarity Island Program contributing with its technological experience to the digital development of 50 volunteer organizations on the island.

The Cabildo celebrates the II Meeting of Volunteer Entities participating in the Digital Transformation project, an initiative promoted by the Department of Social Action, and its program Tenerife Isla Solidaria, managed by Sinpromi, in collaboration with the ULL (Vice-rectorate of Digital Transformation) and ITER.

About 50 entities attended this event, which took place this morning (Tuesday 18) in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Political, Social and Communication Sciences of the University of La Laguna.

The Digital Transformation project, led by the Tenerife Isla Solidaria Program, seeks to provide volunteer organizations with the necessary tools and knowledge to optimize their management, improve the quality of their services and expand their impact on the community.

ITER, represented at the meeting by Jesús Rodríguez Álamo, the coordinator of the Technology Area, participates in this initiative as part of the project’s Observatory, providing technical advice and validating the digital tools that will be implemented. The participation of the institute reinforces its commitment to technological innovation at the service of society, helping third sector entities to optimize their management and expand their impact on the community.

During the event, the Digital Transformation 2025 work plan was presented, which includes technological consulting services, training in digital competencies and the provision of IT equipment. In addition, the implementation of a Digital Transformation Project Observatory was highlighted as a consulting body for validation and monitoring of the project, and the creation of working groups in key areas such as online volunteering, digital maturity and digital associative management.

With its participation in this project, ITER reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and social innovation, driving digital transformation as an engine of change for a more supportive and connected future.
