Project overview
CIDIHUB begins its second phase as a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), consolidating its role as a one-stop shop for digital transformation in the Canary Islands. Following a successful track record in the initial call for proposals for the DIGITAL Europe programme, the Canary Islands Digital Innovation Hub is now strengthening its strategic positioning with a priority focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Recognised by the Canary Islands Government as a strategic regional asset and valued by the European Commission for its collaborative initiatives, CIDIHUB has a physical presence in Gran Canaria and Tenerife and an alliance of 14 expert institutions. This consolidated structure enables it to offer a mature infrastructure, close to the ecosystem and fully oriented towards SMEs and public sector entities.
In this new phase, CIDIHUB 2.0 will align its actions with the European AI Continent 2025 Action Plan, promoting the adoption and deployment of European AI technologies by:
- “Trial before investment” services
- Training in advanced digital skills
- Support in seeking funding
- Development and revitalisation of the innovative ecosystem
The centre will also provide specialised support to facilitate the responsible adoption of AI and regulatory compliance, including the new European regulations in this area. It will also act as a hub connecting key European infrastructures such as AI factories, testing and experimentation facilities (TEFs) and the European on-demand AI platform.
With this expansion of services and the strengthening of its collaboration network, CIDIHUB will contribute to improving regional competitiveness, reducing the digital divide and positioning the Canary Islands as a European benchmark in the development and deployment of sustainable, inclusive and people-centred Artificial Intelligence.
