The research group of the Photovoltaic Cells Laboratory of ITER has presented the latest advances of its research in this prestigious international scientific event, held from September 26 to 30 in Milan, Italy.
ITER will study the energy efficiency of the artisanal block walls created by Aldeatrón Robotik The first actions foreseen within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed between the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies (ITER) and the Aldeatrón Robotik group begun in September. These actions aim to promote the development of sustainable constructions on the island, as well as the continuous training of students. This collaboration is framed within the activities regarding R&D results transfer and synergies establishment with other R&D centers and groups of the MACLAB-PV project. This project is co-financed by the European Interreg MAC Program 2014…
Marysol is an assistant robot designed, manufactured and programmed entirely in ITER, whose main function is to give support to the guided tours in ITER´s facilities. For a few months now, Marysol welcomes our guests at the visitors centre as a complement to ITER’s dissemination programme. The assistant robot Marysol has welcomed more than 200 visitors at ITER´s Visitor Center since last April. With the ability to move on two wheels and move autonomously through the facilities, Marysol is responsible for answering questions, complementing the visits by reproducing audiovisual content, showing real-time information about ITER´s renewable energy power generation, or…

When the Cabildo de Tenerfe founded ITER in 1990 its main objective was to promote the use of renewable energies in Tenerife and carry out research in this same field, financing itself by selling the energy generated in its own renewable energy plants. To this end, and for a decade, the Institute installed 3 wind farms with about 13MW of rated power, both owned and participated, on its premises in Granadilla de Abona. The 29 wind turbines that make up these three wind farms are arranged in two rows, occupying a total of 633 meters and 900 meters respectively. After…
A COVID-19 analysis device has been made available to La Candelaria University Hospital and visors for protective screens are being manufactured for healthcare personnel. The Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies (ITER) has ceded a qPCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) instrument that facilitates the diagnosis of COVID-19 cases to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital Complex (HUNSC, translated from Spanish). The aforementioned instrument, which was transferred on February 27, allows 50 tests per hour. The qPCR equipment, which is commonly used in the ITER’s Genomics laboratory, is located in the laboratories of the hospital complex, and allows to know if…
