The Cabildo brings corporate activity closer to the citizens through its online television channel.

Developed by ITER, the online television channel of the Cabildo de Tenerife has achieved outstanding live broadcasting and storage of corporate audiovisual content: an achievement that is the result of the effort and dedication of the last 10 years.

The online television channel of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Tenerife TV (https://canaltenerifetv.com/), has achieved remarkable quotas in terms of live broadcasts and storage of corporate audiovisual content. This achievement represents an important milestone for the Institution, which has worked hard to offer the citizens of the Island a plural, updated and quality broadcasting platform. The Tenerife TV channel is an audiovisual content management platform, designed, developed and managed by the Development Department of the Technology Area of the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energy (ITER), which was created in 2014.

Since its creation, the online television channel of the Cabildo de Tenerife has become a benchmark in the transmission of live events and broadcasting of audiovisual content related to culture, tourism, economy and other highlights of the Island. The effort and dedication of the entire team behind this project have been fundamental to reach these achievements.

Canal Tenerife TV has made more than 266 live broadcasts with a continuous broadcasting time of 66 days, 19 hours and 30 minutes. It has made 285 live publications and has accumulated a total of 22.1 TB of storage in 28,445 files or 4,576 videos published on social networks.

Thanks to the collaboration of the different areas of the Cabildo, it has been possible to expand the offer of live broadcasts and on-demand audiovisual content, giving viewers the opportunity to enjoy sporting events, congresses, conferences, events and other events of local and international relevance. This diversified approach has made it possible to attract a wider audience and strengthen the channel’s presence on the Internet.

Since its launching, the channel has demonstrated a constant commitment to the live broadcasting of relevant events as well as the Corporation’s plenary sessions, in an effort of transparency and with the objective of reaching the citizens and the general public anywhere in the world. With an advanced technological infrastructure, virtualized in ITER’s Teide-HPC supercomputer, it has been able to transmit in real time outstanding events that have taken place in Tenerife and beyond its borders. This initiative has allowed the audience to enjoy unique experiences from the comfort of their homes.

In addition to live broadcasts, the on-line television channel has managed to consolidate a solid catalog of audiovisual content; focused on the production of its own content, highlighting the promotion of culture, tourism and highlights of life on the island of Tenerife. Thanks to its online availability, people from different parts of the world have had the opportunity to know and enjoy updated audiovisual information about Tenerife, contributing to strengthen tourism and the promotion of the island as a tourist destination.

On the other hand, Canal Tenerife TV has managed to establish a close relationship with the audience through social networks by redistributing live signals and by uploading content to different platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

The online television channel of the Cabildo de Tenerife has proven to be an example of innovation and quality in the world of digital television. Its ability to adapt to new forms of consumption of audiovisual content and its commitment to the promotion of local culture has made it a benchmark inside and outside the island.

In order to continue growing and offering an even more varied and attractive programming, Canal Tenerife TV will continue working on the development of new initiatives to further strengthen this online television channel.
