The Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, in line with the promotion of action strategies in the field of Open Government, proposed to provide information on its activity and management in a complete, accessible, updated and truthful manner.
To this end, it was decided that the channel of communication with the public would be a television channel of the Cabildo Insular with a presence on the Internet, Tenerife TV Channel.
The centralised storage of data and information, its cataloguing for better access, and making it available to citizens on an on-line television platform, is a step towards this new form of transparent government.
In this sense, priority has been given to, among other contents, the live broadcasting of the Corporation’s plenary sessions, important events of the Cabildo of Tenerife and the digitalisation of the most important documentary collections available in the Corporation’s General Archive.
Tenerife TV Channel began broadcasting on 19 December 2014.
