ITER and ARQUIMEA join forces for technological innovation in Tenerife

The Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies (ITER), dependent on the Cabildo of Tenerife and the company ARQUIMEA have shared a day of exchange in the facilities of the Scientific and Technological Park of Tenerife.

The meeting was inaugurated by the Councilor for Innovation of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Mr. Juan José Martínez, and brought together representatives and research staff from both entities to present the projects, capabilities and challenges they face as companies, highlighting the growing innovative ecosystem in the Canary Islands.

The conference counted with the interventions of Á. Rubén Criado Serrano, General Director of ARQUIMEA Research Center; María Begoña Ortiz Leston, CEO of ITER; Jesús Rodríguez Álamo, Director of the Technology Area of ITER; Manuel García-Sañudo, CEO of ARQUIMEA; Rosa Planelles, Project Manager of Kaudal; Jonatán Felipe García, head of supercomputing at ITER; Jesús Fernández, coordinator of the electronics department at ITER; Orlando Avila-García, head of scientific research operations in Artificial Intelligence at ARQUIMEA Research Center; and Adriel Sosa Marco, postdoctoral researcher in the field of AI.

After the presentations, the ITER staff had the opportunity to have a close look at ARQUIMEA’s facilities and laboratories. During the visit and subsequent networking meeting, the direct relationship between the research personnel of both entities was fostered, which could be materialized in collaborations and development of joint projects.

This meeting represents a significant step forward for both institutions and is an example of the strategy of the Innovation Area of the Cabildo of Tenerife to create synergies between all the agents of the island’s R&D&I ecosystem, and to promote the generation of ideas, share know-how and promote the talent and resources available in Tenerife.
