Connectivity services – Carrier capacity circuits

CanaLink is the first neutral and independent national operator that connects the Canary Islands with the mainland by means of submarine broadband communications. Canalink’s objective is to improve the quality and competitiveness of the sector by providing new alternatives to those operators present or with expansion plans in the Canary Islands.

The objectives of the CanaLink project are:

  • The liberalisation of the telecommunications market between the Canary Islands and the mainland, opening up the foreign market to Canary Islands companies and vice versa.
  • Improving the quality of telecommunications between the islands and the outside world.
  • Increased competitiveness of ICT services, penetration of alternative operators, ending the telecommunications monopoly in the Canary Islands and lower wholesale prices.
  • Expand the presence of the Canary Islands on the map of intercontinental submarine communications.

CanaLink offers services to operators who in turn provide end-user services, supporting:

  • Carrier capacity services via submarine cables.
  • Operation and Maintenance of submarine and terrestrial backbone networks.
  • Housing of telecommunications equipment in data processing centres (Andalusia and Peninsula).
  • Turnkey projects of national or international underwater systems.
  • Supply and commissioning of telecommunications systems.
