22nd BOB Webinar: “Bioinformatics – The massive analysis of genomic data”.

Bioinformatics is an emerging interdisciplinary area that is currently booming and is an important pillar in fields such as genomics, preventive medicine, new drug development, clinical diagnostics, the food industry and biomedical research in general.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, researchers from the Genomics Area of ITER will be the protagonists of the 22nd webinar “Bioinformatics – The massive analysis of genomic data” organized by the Cajasiente Big Data, open Data and Blockchain Chair of the University of La Laguna.

Carlos Flores, Scientific Director of the Genomics Area of ITER and Principal Investigator of the Genetic Variation and Disease Group of the Fundación Canaria Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Canarias attached to the Research Unit of the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, the researchers Luis Alberto Rubio and Adrián Muñoz, bioinformaticians of the Genomics Area of ITER, will present their field of work, for which daily is necessary the analysis of large amounts of data being the bioinformatics an indispensable tool.
