Photovoltaic modules

ITER produces photovoltaic modules to meet its own demand and to order.

The multicrystalline silicon modules consist of 48 cells with an efficiency of 13.75%. They are fabricated at two assembly lines within ITER’s facilities, with an annual production capacity of up to 60MW.

The module’s components are selected to withstand the most adverse environmental conditions. To this end, the cells are enclosed between a front cover made of tempered glass and EVA, with a backsheet consisting of TPT film.

ITER’s photovoltaic module has passed the most stringent quality controls, having obtained certification for standards IEC61215, EN61730-1, EN61730-2 and the CE-mark issued by the international certification body TÜV InterCert.
