animation_speed=&#8221;0.3&#8243; animation_offset=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>It will allow the connection of up to 50 MW of power from renewable sources, of which 11 MW correspond to the connection of existing photovoltaic plants in ITER and 10 MW for Enel Green Power&#8217;s future Granadilla Central Wind Farm.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><u><\/u><\/h2>\n<p>In 2007, ITER planned the construction of a 50 MWA 66\/20 kV electrical substation at its facilities in Granadilla. The purpose of this infrastructure was to alleviate the existing capacity limitation in the 20 kV lines of the island&#8217;s Distribution Network, thus allowing the evacuation to the 66 kV Transmission Network of the energy generated in existing and future installations. After the beginning of its construction, the connection point granted for the ITER Substation changed to a new position located in the ABONA 220\/66 kV Substation, at that time of future creation in the Industrial Park of Granadilla, so it was awaiting the construction and commissioning of the same.  <\/p>\n<p>At present, the ABONA 220\/66kV substation is operational, so ITER has resumed the project through the Wind Energy Department and with the collaboration of the Sustainable Architecture and Photovoltaic Departments, to finalize the execution and obtain the commissioning of the ITER 66\/20 kV substation.<\/p>\n<p>This connection infrastructure is not exclusive to the facilities owned by ITER, but will be shared with other generation facilities of third parties. In this sense, ITER, in its capacity as Sole Node Interlocutor before Red El\u00e9ctrica de Espa\u00f1a (REE), has processed the connection request for the Granadilla Central Wind Farm owned by Enel Green Power. In addition, the piping for the 66 kV evacuation line that will connect both substations will be a shared infrastructure with Enel Green Power and Energ\u00edas Verdes de Tenerife, thus achieving a significant reduction in costs and environmental impact. With the same objective, the 20 kV lines that will connect the photovoltaic plants&#8217; head-end centers with the ITER Substation, which are also part of this project, will be shared with Energ\u00edas Verdes de Tenerife.   <\/p>\n<p>As of today, the substation is partially built, with most of the building&#8217;s civil works completed and the equipment partially purchased.
