MICRO INVERTED PYRAMID FORMATION IN TITANIUM DIOXIDE LAYER BY PULSED LASER IRRADIATION TO IMPROVE ELECTRON TRANSPORT IN MAPBI3-BASED PHOTOVOLTAIC DEVICES (2CV.3.61). ” elaborated in collaboration with the University of La Laguna (ULL), allowed to transfer the latest research advances of the research group of the Photovoltaic Cells Laboratory of ITER that have been developed from the European project MACLAB-PV, co-financed by the European Program INTERREG MAC 2014-2020.

The results shared with the specialized scientific community in the EU PVSEC-2024 focused on the advances made by ITER and ULL in the development and improvement of the stability of photovoltaic cells based on Perovskite, a more efficient, accessible and less expensive material than Silicon, which is being actively investigated worldwide in the possibilities it offers.

Specifically, the results obtained in improving the performance of MAPbI3-based photovoltaic devices by forming inverted pyramid microstructures using a 1064 nm pulsed laser on the compact TiO2 layer were presented. These micropyramids enhance the hydrophobic properties, thus facilitating the crystallization of the perovskite layer during the spin-coating deposition step. This improvement enhances electron transport, contributing to the stability and efficiency of the final device.

EU PVSEC is Europe’s largest conference on photovoltaic research, technologies and applications and, at the same time, a PV industry exhibition, where the specialized PV industry presents technologies, innovations and new concepts for the photovoltaic sector. This event, which has been held for more than 41 years, once again brought together the global PV industry to present and discuss the latest developments in PV, network and do business.

Reference to communication:

Ocaña, L; Montes, C; González-Díaz, B; González-Pérez, S; Llarena, E. Micro Inverted Pyramid Formation in Titanium Dioxide Layer by Pulsed Laser Irradiation to Improve Electron Transport in MAPBI3-based Photovoltaic Devices; EU PVSEC 2024; 020123-001 – 020123-005; 3-936338-90-6; DOI: 10.4229/EUPVSEC2024/2CV.3.61; URL: https://userarea.eupvsec.org/proceedings/EU-PVSEC-2024/2CV.3.61/ (MACLAB-PV Project).

The research group of ITER’s Photovoltaic Cells Laboratory presented the latest advances of its research in this prestigious international scientific event.
