{"id":39341,"date":"2024-06-25T12:38:27","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T12:38:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/\u200bnew.iter.es\/new-results-from-the-european-maclab-pv-project-are-shared-with-the-academic-sector\/"},"modified":"2024-06-25T12:38:27","modified_gmt":"2024-06-25T12:38:27","slug":"new-results-from-the-european-maclab-pv-project-are-shared-with-the-academic-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iter.es\/en\/new-results-from-the-european-maclab-pv-project-are-shared-with-the-academic-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"New results from the European MACLAB-PV project are shared with the academic sector."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>A new thesis has seen the light of day thanks to the research carried out in the MACLAB-PV, a project that has contributed to boost R&amp;D and innovation in photovoltaic cells at ITER.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Last June 24th, at 11:00 hours in the Faculty of Physics of La Laguna, the ITER researcher Luis Manuel Oca\u00f1a Gonz\u00e1lez defended his thesis entitled <strong><em>\u201cEncapsulation of Perovskite Solar Cells in Clean Room environment based on polymers\u201d, <\/em><\/strong>obtaining the qualification of <strong><em>cum laude.<\/em><\/strong> Some of the research work collected in this thesis was already published in the two peer-reviewed scientific articles published in the framework of the MACLAB-PV project, a project co-funded by the INTERREG MAC 2014-2020 Program.<\/p>\n<p>The development of this thesis through its Research Plan has marked the guidelines of a new line of research started in ITER thanks to the MACLAB-PV project. The development of the project and of this new R&amp;D line has contributed to improve the capacities of the researchers, it has allowed them to establish synergies with other researchers and research centers and above all, it has allowed them to carry out their research in an optimized and state-of-the-art infrastructure. <\/p>\n<p>In the MACLAB-PV project, 9 new R&amp;D lines were launched in the Canary Islands; 3 lines on renewable energies, 2 of them linked to the research infrastructure optimized in the ITER SiCellLab project; 3 lines on energy efficiency linked to the new MACLAB-PV field laboratory created in the project and 3 lines on energy efficiency of the urban fabric associated to the Living Lab CB ITER reinforced in the project.<\/p>\n<p>This new thesis adds to the scientific results obtained by the partners within the framework of the project, which have contributed to increase the quality and quantity of their scientific production. Thanks to the project, 2 doctoral theses, 2 research plans and 6 peer-reviewed scientific articles with open access have been published. These results have also allowed the project&#8217;s research personnel to participate in 6 Scientific Conferences of international relevance such as the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) or the World Conference On Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC) in which they have presented 13 abstracts, 11 scientific communications, 13 poster-type visual communications and 6 audiovisual communications.  <\/p>\n<p>The main results of the project have been captured in a video and a dossier of project results which are available on the project website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maclabpv.com\/\">https:\/\/www.maclabpv.com\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new thesis has seen the light of day thanks to the research carried out in the MACLAB-PV, a project that has contributed to boost R&amp;D and innovation in photovoltaic cells at ITER.
