All sensors are placed along a metal lattice tower of approximately 45 meters high. At the top of the tower, coinciding with the height of the wind turbine hub, is the WindSonic sonic sensor that measures wind direction and speed. The remaining sensors (cup anemometer, wind vane, and humidity and temperature sensors) are located at a height of 25 meters.   <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the <strong>SOLTEN Weather Station<\/strong> is located at UTM coordinates 350115.35-3106285.03 at an elevation of 103 meters above sea level. It is a deck-mounted station equipped with an Anemometer\/ vane, Thermo-hygrometer, LM35 temperature sensor, Pyranometer and sensor for the estimation of dirt. <\/p>\n<p>Both stations are connected in real time to the ITER data service and are available for public consultation through the <a href=\"http:\/\/climatenerife.iter.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ClimaTenerife<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37179\" src=\"https:\/\/\u200bwww.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-150x75.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2-450x225.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.iter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/estacion-meteo_2.jpg 1100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"15\" data-lineheight=\"45px\">Weather forecasting services<\/h3>\n<p>Additionally, ITER has implemented a weather forecasting system to improve the management of its renewable energy facilities. The predictions are calculated day by day in ITER&#8217;s Teide supercomputer using the WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) numerical weather prediction model.
