{"id":38725,"date":"2016-01-08T10:00:36","date_gmt":"2016-01-08T10:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/\u200bnew.iter.es\/stirpe\/"},"modified":"2025-02-28T10:00:36","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T10:00:36","slug":"stirpe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iter.es\/en\/stirpe\/","title":{"rendered":"STIRPE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>STIRPE \u2013 TOWARDS AN INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN URBANIZATIONS AND PEDESTRIAN AREAS<\/h2>\n<p>The project is framed within the Challenge &#8216;Intelligent, Sustainable and Integrated Transport&#8217;, listed in the framework document &#8216;Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2013-2020&#8217;. It aims to advance in the solution of the difficulties that currently prevent autonomous vehicles from being a viable alternative to conventional transport. In this sense, the project establishes three main objectives:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To establish and validate a testing environment for autonomous vehicles<\/li>\n<li>To improve sensing systems, with the common denominator being to undertake the fusion of heterogeneous information sources and the devices separately.<\/li>\n<li>To advance in aspects of sustainability and energy efficiency.
