Tenerife TV channel (www.canaltenerifetv.com) is one of the four finalists for best project on Transparency, Citizen Participation and open Government within the framework of the VI National Congress of innovation and public service awards, which this year is held under the theme “The digital transformation at the service of the citizenship. The Cabildo of Tenerife is the only Canarian administration nominated for these awards, which will be handed out on March 3rd, 2016 in a ceremony that will take place at the headquarters of Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, in Madrid.

The Tenerife TV channel, which has been developed by ITER withih the framework of the collaboration agreement signed with the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife for an open Government, is a key piece to the transparency of the Insular Corporation in order which uses the channel as a window to the Cabildo´s performances for citizens.

The online TV platform of the Cabildo is broadcasted through the Internet, overcoming geographic barriers, and in streaming. All the plenaries and events concerning the Insular Corporation are broadcasted, making available all its audiovisual identity in an ordered and categorized manner.

The Sixth National Congress of Innovation and Public Services will take place in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, on the 2nd and 3rd of March. It is an essential appointment for public institutions and officials who want to be abreast of progress made and the projects underway in the field of innovation, e-Government, technologies, regulations and new public services. This year’s theme, the Digital Transformation at the service of the citizenship, is due to the need of discussion on how to apply innovative solutions by analyzing the new trends.

Fourteen categories

The awards which are granted within the framework of this Conference recognize the projects and people that are contributing the most to the digital transformation of public administrations of the country. This call has 14 categories that reward the best projects on interoperability, security, innovation, training in innovation, social innovation, digital transformation action plan, Smart Cities, transparency, participation citizen and open Government, social media management, services in the cloud, mobile strategy and public app strategy, most innovative European project, innovative public procurement and award to the best collaboration project either public or private.

The Tenerife TV channel competes in the category of transparency, citizen participation and open Government next to the municipality of Alzira (city video-minutes), the city of Leganés (transparency since the genetic code to posterity) and the provincial Council of Castellón (external audit on compliance with obligations established by law).

This Congress is organized by the Club de la Innovación, with the support of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias (FEMP), the Centro Criptológico Nacional and the Ministerio de Hacienda y Administraciones Públicas. The Club de la Innovación aims to disseminate and promote innovation in the field of public administration.
